Meet the Owner: Mark Cuban
Mark Cuban is an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist who has been the owner of the Dallas Mavericks NBA team since 2000. Cuban is also the co-founder of the HDNet cable television network and the founder of the Landmark Theatres chain of movie theaters.
Under Cuban's ownership, the Mavericks have won one NBA championship in 2011 and have been to the NBA Finals twice, in 2006 and 2011. Cuban is known for his passionate support of the team and his willingness to speak his mind on issues affecting the NBA.

The majority owners of the Mavericks are Miriam Adelson and her family including her son-in-law, Patrick Dumont. Adelson is the widow of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. The Adelsons have been the majority owners of the Mavericks since 2014.
